Adult Stem Cell Education

Millions of people are surprised by the great strides forward in developing regenerative medicine using adult stem cells. Many more do not understand the difference between non-controversial adult stem cells and embryonic stem cells, which raise ethical, religious or moral concerns for many people. It is adult stem cells which are being applied in thouĀsands of clinical trials right now.

Greater public understanding and the dispelling of misconceptions will lead to more attention to, increased funding for, and faster adoption of adult stem cell therapies. SFLF will use its platform as a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit to:

  • Conduct educational programs
  • Create international opportunities for scientists, clinicians, policy makers, ethicists, educators, government officials, the stem cell therapeutic business community and the media to exchange knowledge
  • Disseminate news about rapidly evolving adult stem cell science via our newsletter, Life Lines, website, Twitter and SFLF blog

While our aim is to raise public awareness of adult stem cell medicine, we will also create and distribute educational materials for specific audiences, including:

  • Researchers
  • The medical community, especially those practicing in areas where adult stem cell therapies are being evaluated in clinical trials
  • People seeking medical treatments for themselves or a loved one
  • Firefighters, police, emergency medical services, military personnel and other first responders
  • Students in high school and college
  • Academic faculty and administrators
  • People of influence, such as public officials, religious leaders and members of the media
  • Any group with a particularly high risk for injury or illness
