The Stem For Life Foundation raises public awareness  about cell therapy and its therapeutic promise and  supports the advancement of this research.

In the video shown above we explore this question: Can we reverse the process of aging or slow it down in the first place?

Dr. Max Gomez highlights some of the breakthroughs occurring  in clinics worldwide using cell therapies to treat Type 1 Diabetes.

Watch as Dr. Max Gomez shares the perspective and challenges of families caring for a child with a rare disease.

What is Cell Therapy?

Cell therapy (also called cellular therapy or cytotherapy) is therapy in which cellular material (generally intact, living cells) is injected into a patient. Cell therapies harness the body’s natural repair mechanisms to address the root cause of disease. Its potential therapeutic benefits are the subject of intense research.

Autologous cell therapy, where the donor and the recipient are the same person, is distinguished from allogenic cell therapy where the donor is different from the recipient. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, the allogenic methodology is promising as unmatched allogenic therapies can form the basis of “off the shelf” products.

Cell therapy is targeted at many clinical indications in multiple organs and by several modes of cell delivery. Accordingly, the specific mechanisms of action involved in the therapies are wide ranging. Some of the cells used in cell therapy include stem , T, dendritic, natural killer, genetically modified, plasma, and red blood.

Our Heroes

All of the work of SFLF is ultimately for the patients—past, present and future— who have been and will be treated successfully with adult stem cells. We recognize and appreciate the contributions made to the field by these patients. These unlikely heroes didn’t set out to change the world, but are changing the world of science and medicine everyday with their remarkable stories of courage and triumph in the face of adversity.

We have recognized some of these heroes at our Vatican Conferences and to feature some of their stories in our Life Lines newsletter. We urge you to read more about their inspiring journeys. Click on the button below to learn more.

Cells Are the New Cure Book Release

In their latest book, Cells Are the New Cure, Dr. Robin Smith and Dr. Max Gomez describe how virtually any disease that results from malfunctioning, damaged or failing tissues may potentially be cured through a variety of regenerative medicine therapies that draw upon the intrinsic healing system of the body.
Readers of Cells Are the New Cure will get an up-close-and-personal look at amazing research innovations that are impacting the body’s internal healing system and come to understand why they have the potential to trigger a profound change in medical practice. The book will be released in October 2017.
